At West 7th Massage Therapy clinic, we encourage our clients to go beyond the treatment we provide for them and pursue various forms of exercise and bodywork for strength, flexibility and well-being on their own to further support the work we do. MELT is one method of support that we recommend.
MELT is a simple self-treatment technique that helps relieve chronic pain and symptoms of nervous system inefficiency, such as insomnia, digestive problems, anxiety, allergies, weight gain, and much more. As these symptoms accelerate over time, premature aging can result.
Chronic dehydration is a major factor in the breakdown of all the body’s systems. The symptoms of aging that we consider to be inevitable can be dramatically slowed down through improved hydration, as well as through exercises, practices, and therapies such as massage (to release tightness and improve circulation in all of the fluid systems of the body), that, if maintained consistently, can keep you strong, mobile, and flexible for a lifetime.
The MELT method works by rehydrating the connective tissue system, a supportive, 3D, fluid matrix that balances, nourishes, and stabilizes the entire body. This system cannot function optimally when it becomes dehydrated (which happens every day to everyone as a normal cellular process). As important as adequate fluid intake is, if the cells are not absorbing this fluid, chronic dehydration will be the result. No amount of proper diet or exercise addresses this problem.
Maureen Orman offers innovative classes that combine MELT, yoga, and anti-aging techniques to hydrate and balance the entire body.
